MCA is not Messy Chaos Assumptions

Multi-Criteria Analysis can make or break a project’s early-stage ideation process.

MCA is your best friend, but also the worst enemy if not managed properly. The risk is there are too many people developing too many dimensions, asking for too many details, requiring too many assumptions on assumptions, bottom-up. If a million things matter, then none of them do.

So, it’s critical that we agree what the real deal-breaking matters upfront. Keep that list short. Make best use of senior experience and judgement. The result should help people to agree the relativities and key trade-offs, not whether 5.32065 is a more credible score compared to 5.35026.

Macro, not micro. Concise, not precise.
